Osteopathy

Jane BellinghamJane Bellingham D.O., M.R.O.

Jane qualified from the European School of Osteopathy in 1984 with a Diploma of Osteopathy. She spent a year working as a locum and then started practices in Buckingham and Bicester.

In 1986 she took over the Northampton Clinic. The Clinic was originally an Osteopathic Clinic which had been in existence since 1935.

Since 1986 it has expanded into the Multi disciplinary Clinic that it is today. Jane also works one session a week in a local GP Practice at Whitefields Surgery Hinsbury Hill Road, West Hinsbury, Tel: 01604 706767 www.whitefields.nhs.uk

Jane is also interested in Pilates and works closely with a local Pilates instructor with some of her patients.

Jane uses many approaches in her treatment. She enjoys treating musculoskeletal problems. In 1996 she started working at the Osteopathic Centre for Children in London to gain experience working in the paediatric field. She worked there for 2 years on a voluntary basis and attended various courses run by the Osteopathic Centre for Children.

Her osteopathic techniques include cranial, structural and neuromuscular work. She is happy to treat patients of all ages - from babies to the elderly. She is interested in treating back pain during pregnancy and has attended many obstetrical/gynae courses.

Jane is registered with all the private health companies.

Anna CadzowAnna Cadzow

Anna trained at the European School of Osteopathy in Maidstone, Kent and graduated in July 2000 with a BSc. (Hons) in Osteopathy.

From August 2000 until October 2001 Anna lived in New Zealand and worked full time in a busy practice in Wellington, exploring the country at the week-ends.

Although devoutly Scottish, Anna and her husband decided on Buckingham as the place to settle on their return to the UK - the sun shines more often in the south.

Anna works in Northampton for 3 sessions a week including a late night clinic on Thursday and Saturday mornings. She is also a tutor at the Osteopathic teaching Clinic at Oxford Brooks University two times a week.

At the weekends Anna is the module leader and lecturer for the Osteopathic Examination aspect of the BSc. (Hons.) Osteopathy Course at the University.

Liz WalkerLiz Walker

Liz qualified in 1994 from the British School of Osteopathy with a Degree in Osteopathy. Liz has been working at the Northampton Clinic since qualifying.

Liz has taken various post graduate courses since qualifying that have broadened her knowledge in osteopathy. This has led to her taking a specific interest in treatment of patients in the following areas:

* Pregnancy
* Babies
* Visceral complaints
* Cranial treatment

Acupuncture & Zero Balancing


Rosanna PriceRosanna Price Adv.Lic.Ac. M.B.Ac.C.


Rosanna did her initial acupuncture training for 3 years at the College of Traditional Acupuncture (CTA), qualifying in 1990. She has a post-graduate qualification from CTA - Advanced Licentiate in Acupuncture (1994) and a diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicine at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine.

She is a member of the British Acupuncture Council, which oversees standards in clinical practice and professional ethics.

Rosanna is also a Certified Zero Balancer, Zero Balancing teacher and a member of the Zero Balancing Association UK. She runs training workshops in and around Northamptonshire.

She lives with her husband and two children in Long Buckby and practices in Northampton.


Lang Cai Lang Cai M.B., MA, MATCM


She is a practitioner of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine with over 20 years clinical experience.

She was trained at Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from 1978-1983 with a degree of Bachelor of Medicine (M.B.). After her graduation, she worked as a doctor at Acupuncture Department in a hospital in Beijing for 14 years before she came to the UK. She has gained extensive experience in treating various diseases and illnesses especially those with chronic conditions.

In 1999, she completed her postgraduate study at University of Brighton with a degree in MA Health Studies. Since then, She has been practising acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine in England. She has successfully helped a lot of people in improving their health.

She is a full member of the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ATCM) (UK).

Dr Allan Leroy

Dr Allan Leroy has been practicing medical acupuncture since 1990 and general medicine since 1975. He qualified originally from Oxford University and the Westminster Medical School and subsequently studied Western Medical Acupuncture with the British Medical Acupuncture Society of which he is a member.

Chiropody


Julie GriffithsJulie Griffiths


Jullie is a State Registered Chiropodist/Podiatrist qualified in 1995 from Northampton School of Podiatry. She has a B.Sc. in Podiatry with Honours and she is also a Member of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists.

Julie has worked both in private practice and in the NHS. She has built up a small mobile practice and now has expanded to offer surgery treatments as well at the Northampton Clinic.

Julie has taken various post-graduate courses since qualifying and has a special interest in Diabetes, Nail Surgery and Podiatric Biomechanies.

Sarah McConaughey SRCh, BSc (Hons) Podiatry, MChS.

Sarah is a State Registered Chiropodist/Podiatrist and qualified with a BSc (Honours) from the Northampton School of podiatry. Sarah is also a member of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists.

Sarah’s experience includes teaching at the School of Podiatry in Birmingham, working within her own private practice, and then finally working within the NHS Northampton.

Sarah has gained an excellent reputation both in private practice and within the NHS. Whilst she has been working for the NHS Sarah has been continuing her professional development by completing several courses including Biomechanics, Infection Control, Local anaesthesia, Vascular & Neurological assessments, Pharmacology, Wound Care, and Rheumatology.

Sarah is a specialist in diabetes where she works alongside the diabetic consultants to provide acute care for diabetic foot pathologies. Sarah has completed the Diabetic Foot Module by the society of Chiropodists and Podiatrist and hopes to go on to complete a Masters in this field.

Kiniesiology and Nutrition

Christeanne ParkerChristianne Parker

Christianne trained as a Nutritionalist for three years with the Institute for Optimum Nutrition (ION), now recognised as the leader in its field, and for two years in Kinesiology with the Middle England School of Kinesiology.

Christianne combined Nutritional Therapy and Kinesiology together and practices at the Northampton Clinic and from home.

Christianne has written and run seminars and has also presented items on the radio.

Counselling

AnnAnn Spence

Ann qualified as a counsellor in 1998, gaining a Diploma from University of Leicester. She is a accredited member of the BACP and works according to their ethical framework for good practice in counselling and psychotherapy.

She has experience and special interest in abuse, adoption, anger/stress management, anxiety, bereavement and loss, depression, panic attacks, relationship/family difficulties, sexual identity and issues connected with twins.

Ann also works in primary healthcare and offers short or long term, face to face work. She is able to offer flexible appointment times.

Homoeopathy


Lyn RedmanLyn Redman


Lyn has been practicing homeopathy in Northampton for 9 years and is a registered member of the Society of homeopaths.

Her love of homeopathy is based on the fact that homeopathy treats the person not a named disease condition. People are important and their mental and emotion state is as significant as their physical condition. Homeopathy gently restores the balance in the individual giving them control over their own health. All this without the use of strong, harmful drugs.

Reflexology

Margaret qualified as a Reflexologist with the International Institute of Reflexology UK in 1989 and she became a member of the Association of Reflexologists in 1990.

Margaret is also a registered practitioner with the Dr Edward Bach Foundation since 1994. She has worked at the Northampton Clinic since 1995 where practice both Reflexology and the Bach Flower Remedies. Since 1993 Margaret has taught both these therapies for adult education.

Reflexology has been shown to be effective for back pain, migraine, infertility, arthritis, hormonal imbalances, digestive disorders and stress related conditions.

Bach Remedies help to manage the emotional demands of everyday life.

Nikki qualified as a Reflexology Practitioner in 1999 from The Academy of Effective Reflexology.

Hilary KirkHilary Kirk I.T.E.C., I.H.B.C., I.I.H.H.T. Aromatherapist and Beauty Therapist Member of British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology.

Hilary trained in Northampton and London and has been a self employed beauty therapist since 1990. Before having her 2 children she worked as a cosmetic consultant for Mary Quant and Clinique in London.

She did her Aromatherapy training also in London and Northampton. She blends her own oils which are 100% pure and offers full body and back, neck and shoulder massage to both male and female clients.

 

Physiotherapist

 

Victoria Corda

Victoria qualified as a Physiotherapist with a first class honours degree from Coventry University. She is both Chartered and State Registered.

Victoria divides her work time between a Private Hospital and The Northampton Clinic. At the hospital, she is a Clinical Specialist in Outpatients and rehabilitation of orthopaedic surgery. At the clinic, Victoria treats most musculoskeletal conditions but her main clinical interests are spinal and shoulder problems, and sports injuries.

With her remaining time she is the Physiotherapist to England Hockey Ladies Master's Squads.

 

Alternative Therapies/McTimoney Chiropractor

 

Dana Green

Born in Canada, Dana Green moved to the United States in her teens studying chemistry and English at the Universities of Connecticut and Iowa. She worked around the world as a journalist and scientific editor including six years in New Zealand before finally settling in England in 1971 except for a year in Austria in 1982-3.

After returning, she trained as a McTimoney Chiropractor, qualifying in 1987, and completed the postgraduate course for animals two years later.

Since then she has worked with patients both two legged and four and was once featured on BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour in an interview on animal chiropractic where she was upstaged by the goat!

In 1997 she was appointed by the Privy Council to the General Chiropractic Council in Britain which has been set up to regulate and establish the profession in the UK and was elected to the Council for another five years in 2002.

Aside from chiropractic, she is passionate about animals, music, yoga, writing, literature and the natural world.

 

Phillippa Throssell

Born in Northern Ireland, I grew up on a farm in Cornwall and went to Moulton Agricultural College while farming in Northamptonshire.

Always interested in alternative therapies, I qualified as a McTimoney Chiropractor in 1990 and have worked in a variety of clinics including one in the Orkneys I have taught/mentored/tutored at the McTimoney College and gained a Cert. Ed. at Oxford Brookes and also specialised in working with the children at the Children's Clinic at Wheatley.

I enjoy working alongside other therapists and expanding my knowledge and understanding of the human body.
